Adriana Sousa Estrella was born and raised in Florida, in a very Caribbean household. Her ceramics education came to her in the form of community studio courses, sponsored workshop attendances, and peer-teaching from other generous ceramicists. Though she holds a BA in English and an MS in Information from Florida State University, she abandoned her field as soon as she found clay. Currently based in Boston, MA, Adriana is an instructor and studio technician at the Office for the Arts at Harvard University. Her work’s formal language is rooted in function and overall explores tension, and the relationship between precision and letting go.
